Title:  Mary McLeod Bethune Memorial
Description:  The Mary McLeod Bethune Memorial stands in Washington, DC's Lincoln Park on Capitol Hill. It was sculpted by Robert Berks, and was dedicated in 1974. It honors Ms. Bethune for her role as educator, presidential adviser, and civil rights activist. The sculpture features a representation of a cane given to Bethune by President Franklin Roosevelt, and two children receiving Bethune's last will and testament. Historian Richard Norton Smith narrates.
