Those ready for some potentially good news today can look to the Labor Department, which announced that job openings in the U.S. rose in June to a four-year high.
The number of jobs that need to be filled grew by 105,000, moving from 3.66 million in May, to 3.76 million in June. This is the highest figure since July 2008.
Hopefully, this means that hirings will pick up in the second half of this year. The U.S. is certainly ready for that, given that the unemployment rate last week climbed to a five-month high.
