Reuters reports a U.S. judge ordered JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) to explain by July 13 why the court should not force the bank to turn over 25 internal emails demanded as part of an investigation into whether it manipulated electricity markets in California and the Midwest. Reuters also reports KKR (NYSE:KKR) will buy German cutlery and coffee machines maker WMF AG for about $727M, as it seeks to expand the business in Asia and the U.S. KKR agreed to buy a 52% voting stake in WMF from main shareholder Crystal Capital, an investment vehicle controlled by Swiss financial investor Capvis for 47 euros per share. Bloomberg reports Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) is developing a smartphone that would compete with Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and handheld devices that run Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android operating system, sources say. Foxconn International Holdings is said to be working with Amazon. Finally, Bloomberg reports rents and occupancies at U.S. shopping centers increased in Q2 amid little development of properties, according to research company Reis Inc. (NYSE:REIS).
